Who Can Tell His Story
Amy wanted to know about her father's life growing up. Problem was that his memory had really declined. Plus, he struggles to find words which is stressful for him. Instead of saying oh well to capturing those stories, she volunteered her Uncle Jeff (second from right in the sibling photo above) who was ready and willing to step up to the plate.
If your parents or grandparents aren't able to tell their own stories, is there some else who can?
"We are a family of stories and my niece wanted to have these stories pulled into one voice and in one place. I'm so glad I could do this for her. And I had a great time doing it!"
Jeff did an amazing job of describing their childhood home and the family dynamics. As he connected the dots, he colorfully detailed that joys and challenges with kindness and authenticity. "Hearing my letter felt like a celebration of the gratitude I have for my family relationships."
Jeff's generosity wasn't lost on his family. His brother and sisters were thrilled by these shared memories. Amy's siblings and many cousins had no idea what was coming. Jeff's love letter to his family was a total surprise. They were over the moon when it landed in their hands and hearts.
Who will the lucky one be to share your family's stories?
