Preserving Stories for Future Generations
You want to give your family member something really special that doesn’t add to your already full plate.
Can you relate?
You see your family member regularly, but there’s always a lot going on.
Your family member is doing fine, but you know it can change on a dime.
You and your family member have a complicated relationship.
Your family member’s memory is fading, and when you talk, you don’t get past the basics.
You need more time!
You want your kids and grandkids to know your family member through their stories. You don’t want to miss the window.
But there’s no way you can take this on yourself.
How will your children and grandchildren remember them?
The great news is that by using Family Love Letters, I take care of everything so you don’t have to!
You’ve tried a digital story app. But they never opened the weekly emails, yet alone answered them.
Same went for the story book, which you found untouched in the desk drawer. Clearly they’re not going to do this on their own.
It’s really hard to do this on your own! And if it feels like work, it won’t happen.
“I gave my parents an experience – the gift of talking about their lives.
My parents are family-centric and I know they appreciate the continuity these letters provide. Even their parents would be happy! It’s a continuation of familial connection.
My mother and my father-in-law didn’t have easy childhoods. But their experiences still matter for the grandchildren. Those stories are part of the grandchildren’s stories.”

What’s included
From start to finish, the process takes 6-8 weeks.*
I work with your chosen family member – parent, step parent, grandpa, beloved auntie - whomever you select to:
Facilitate a series of calls where I introduce the process and capture their stories & perspectives.
Review of letter with them and complete one round of revisions.
Create and send the Treasure Box of memories including original hard copies and a digital copy to easily share with extended family.
*Note that my project calendar does tend to book out, so if you’re thinking about this please book your call in advance of when you’d like to start. The 6-8 weeks is from my first call with your family member, not our initial conversation.
Most family members are game from the get-go.
But, I’m happy to set up a complimentary call to introduce myself, review the process, and address any concerns they have before you commit.
I don’t want my message here to be ‘doom-and-gloom’, however, the saddest moments are when people tell me they wish they had found me sooner, before their dad passed or their stepmom was diagnosed with dementia.
I’ve had several clients who passed right after creating their letter, even unexpectedly – not because they were sick. The bottom line is that we don’t know what the future holds. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
