What lights you up?

Steve didn't hesitate. "Singing brings me joy. There's a song inside me, and I love letting it come out." 

That reply came with a sparkle in his eye. But if your family member doesn't know how to answer, try:

What brings you joy?

Steve responded this way, "I love food and try new foods no matter what they are. It doesn't have to be a fancy restaurant (though I don’t mind that), just good."

And then there's always, "What makes you happy?"

I'll take that last one. Lots of things make me happy. What comes to mind right now is seeing my kids text each other something funny, interesting....really just the fact that they seek each other out makes me SO happy.

I've given you three variations of the same question. Each is a little mellower than the one before and draws a different response.
