She’s Ready, So Let’s Go!
Liz's father had been the storyteller. He was sentimental and an easy talker. Liz's mom, on the other hand, kept things close to the vest and let her husband do the talking. For years after he died, her mom kept quiet. But not long ago, Liz noticed that her mother started revealing bits and pieces about her life, here and there. That's when Liz called me.
"I have a feeling that she wants to talk about those things, but doesn't know how."
Liz had an inkling that talking to a third party would make her mom comfortable enough to open up about her life experiences. She was so right!
Virginia and I had great conversations about the people and times that impacted her. We talked about sweet memories and how she got through tough times, such as her husband's death. She described what she's learned, the risks she's taken and what gives her joy. Virginia had so much to say.
Turns out, Liz's mom is also a storyteller.
