The Glue that Sticks
This week’s prompt: What('s) kept you two together?
This is one you can ask your parent, your spouse or even your child. Maybe it refers to a romantic relationship or a deep friendship, a current relationship or one that's in the past.
I asked my client, Jeff, about his 50+ years of marriage and was so moved by his totally sweet response:
"We keep choosing each other." Whoa!
"And now, more than in the past, I want to do things for her. Little rituals. Until recently, every morning I would go downstairs and carry up two cups of coffee. Now we have an espresso machine in our bedroom so I don't have to risk my life."
So romantic. I may borrow this one.
"Caring for each other and allowing ourselves to be cared for is important."
Jeff, this is so true and not always easy.
You might even start the conversation with yourself: what's kept you and your favorite person together?
I would LOVE to hear your response. If you're game, send me a note!
